My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duck-Duck is an embden / pilgrim cross goose (female), hatched in 2023. She is #3 in the numbered photo. Duck-Duck knows her name and will respond when called. She doesn't chase, is non-aggressive, but is not tame. Must be adopted together with her flock.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Our application is available online. You will be asked for a veterinary reference and copy of your rental agreement. References are checked!

2.

Meet the Pet

Once your application is checked and approved, we arrange a meeting (in Brainerd, Little Falls, or Staples) to see how everyone gets along.

3.

Pay Fee

If your meeting goes well, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. All paperwork will be explained to you.

4.

Take the Pet Home

If pet is ready to go, you can take them home. If they still need more care, they will go back to foster until they are ready to go home.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption application is available online through our website.

We require an application and veterinary reference, to be considered for adoption. Once we have approved your application, we do require an in-person visit (arranged in Brainerd/Baxter, Little Falls, or Staples). We no longer do home checks. If you meet the pet and everything goes well, you will be asked to pay their adoption fee, and sign an adoption contract.

All cats and dogs over six months old are spayed/neutered; puppies and kittens under six months old require a spay/neuter deposit which is refunded if proof of sterilization is returned by the time the pet is seven months old. All canines and felines are vaccinated for rabies (if 12 weeks or older), dewormed, given a flea/tick prevention, and microchipped before going to their new homes.

More about this rescue

Silver Dragon Pets is a small privately run foster based pet rescue. All of the animals stay in foster homes until they are adopted. We do our best to observe personalities and work on training and medical needs while in our care so we can better find suitable homes for the animals entrusted to us.
