If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Odie is a four year old neutered Border Collie x Lab mix in Columbia, MS.
The good: He's a huge love bug that enjoys being pet, cuddling, and even holding your hand with his paw. He's a good guard dog, has decent obedience, and has done lots of hiking, cani-cross running and biking, and even skijoring. He loves swimming and playing ball. He's trained to an e-collar, and even without it generally sticks around. He's crate trained and house broken, smart, treat motivated, and responds well to positive training methods. He's great in the car and out in public, up to date on his shots and is microchipped. He lived with cats when he was younger, but its been a few years so I would reintroduce with caution.
The potentially tricky: He generally gets along well with dogs, but has had a couple spats before. He's been around horses and livestock, though might have an issue with chickens. He's great with kids, but is big, can be stubborn, and can get overexcited and herding-nip at times.
