Meet Samson! 🐾

Samson is an 8-year-old Boxer with a gentle soul and a big love for people. He was surrendered by his previous owner due to time constraints, and they shared lots of helpful insight about the wonderful dog Samson is.

According to his former family, Samson does well with dogs smaller than him and has never been around cats. He’s great with kids and knows some basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake — always happy to show off his manners! Samson absolutely loves going for walks and brings lots of enthusiasm along, so he may pull on the leash a bit from excitement, but that just means he’s ready for an active buddy to help him polish his leash skills.

Shelter staff describe Samson as a mellow, easygoing boy who is very good with people. He enjoys attention, has a calm presence, and would make a loyal, loving companion.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
