These two adorable pups came to PCHS from a valued rescue partner. They were part of an unwanted liter and made their way to rescue when they were about 11 weeks old. They have spent several months in shelter, patiently, waiting for a new family to come and choose them. But after weeks of waiting, waiting, and some more waiting, no one has picked either of these boys. In hopes of reaching a bigger audience, these two boys then made their way to PCHS where they are hopeful their luck will change!
Luke and Stephan are about 4 months old now, completely vetted, and ready to find their forever families! Their mom was said to be an Olde English Bulldog mix and their dad was a Border Collie mix. Both pups are energetic, friendly, and enjoy getting attention. Like all puppies, they would benefit from puppy obedience training and continued socialization. These boys are playful and would likely enjoy a canine companion in their new home.

We want our clients to understand that adopting and animal is a lifetime responsibility and commitment to that animal.
All prospective adopters must show (at the time of adoption) a valid drivers license or other acceptable identification to verify their name, address, and age. Adopters must be 18 yrs of age. Children under the age of 12 years old need to be present at time of viewing shelter cats or dogs.
After submitting an application, there is generally a processing period of 1-3 days in order to complete all pre-adoption checks and paperwork before an adopter may take possession of the animal.

Paws and Claws Humane Society is committed to partnering with the community to shelter, protect, and seek adoptive homes for abandoned or lost companion animals.
We have served Southern Minnesota for over 30 years and we are the largest shelter in the 8 surrounding counties that does not limit the length of stay for the animals in its care.
Paws & Claws is funded completely on donations and fundraising events and receives no federal, state, county or city funds.We currently have nearly 900 dues paying members.
Paws & Claws has a community fund to help pay for the spaying and neutering of companion animals for those who cannot afford it.
We give over 40 tours and presentations annually, educating the public [including over 400 children] about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to help control the pet population in Southern Minnesota.
We have over 110 families that participate in the Guardian Angel Program [sponsoring animals] each month.
Paws & Claws will take in an injured animal and get the emergency medical care that it requires.
Local veterinarians in and around Rochester help Paws & Claws by providing over 145 free spay or neuters each year.
In a typical year the shelter will facilitate adoptions and provide care for over 600 dogs and cats.
