My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say Cheese!! You won't be able to stop smiling after you meet me. My name is Gouda - the little softie with a spunky lust for life. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy and adventure companion all wrapped into one, no need to look any further. I came to Animal Aid after being found as a stray in Washington County. Even though my background isn't known, it's clear that I'm experienced in love.

My awesome fosters have been working hard on all my basic skills, and I sure do learn quickly. I love my dog friends at home and would love to have a big, playful dog sibling in my forever family. Sometimes I bark at other dogs on leash who are reactive toward me, but mostly I just watch the people and animals of the world stroll by. I love playing tug, playing fetch, being brushed, and any opportunity to run and exercise. Snack based activities are my absolute favorite. I don't like my ears being touched or rushed interactions with strangers. A slow intro where you let me ease in at my own pace is ideal. Once we're bonded, we're friends for life.

I could do well with kids who respect my boundaries, but an adult only home is also great. I haven't had many interactions with cats, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about living with one. I could probably learn to cohabitate with a proper intro. Even though I'd prefer a dog companion, an animal free home is fine with me as long as I get plenty of exercise and stimulation. I love to learn, play, and experience the world with my people. I'm in great health and ready to start the rest of my life.

I'm in a foster home, so please fill out an application at animalaidpdx.org to meet me.
