My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have you ever seen a cuter black and white spotted pup? Meet Spud! Spud is a 5 year old cattle dog/Great Pyrenees mix that recently came back to the rescue after his beloved owner passed away. Now he’s hoping to find a family to be his true forever home! He currently weighs 60-70 lbs but could use to lose some weight.

Spud was named accurately - because this boy is a true couch potato. He loves to lounge around all day on his dog bed or the couch. When he goes outside, he becomes a completely different dog - happy to run around the yard and explore, play with a toy, play with the other pups, or join you for a nice leisurely walk or jog.

Spud sleeps through the night on the couch and his foster mom has to give him a few minutes of belly rubs every morning before he’s ready to get up and start his day. He is fully housebroken, is totally content if you need to leave for a few hours, is playful with the resident cats, and is not destructive at all. He is treat motivated, neutered, and utd on his vaccines.

Spud is very expressive, quirky and goofy - making him that much more lovable. He was hit by a car when he was young and as a result he walks a little bit like a duck and has some arthritis, but he doesn’t let that slow him down!

It took him some time to settle into his foster home after being surrendered, but he has now bloomed into his true goofy, happy, playful self. He deserves a forever family that will appreciate him for all of his quirkiness and love him for the rest of his life!

He is fostered in Hunterdon County NJ and is available for meet and greets with approved applications.
