Once upon a time, Rue discovered a couch… and a pile of cozy blankets and after everything she’s been through, it was game over. After living in squalor, Rue is finally learning what it means to feel safe, warm, and at rest.
Rue is a gentle, shy soul who’s learning that the world can be kind. She may take a little time to warm up, but every single day her confidence grows a bit more. She has been enjoying playing chase with her foster dog brother, has been picking up potty training fairly quick, and has been learning how to play with toys (which she includes shoes in that category).
Rue would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands her couch-loving lifestyle and celebrates her progress at her pace. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just wants a safe place to land (preferably with blankets), Rue might be your girl.

We do not have a physical location, we have planned adoption events and we schedule off site meetings with the foster homes with approved applicants.

Cold Nose Warm Heart Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from high-kill shelters. Through our network of committed volunteers and foster homes we are able to rescue, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well matched, thoroughly screened forever homes. We also provide our adopters and the community with information on responsible pet ownership, including spay-neuter, training and good nutrition.
