My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Archer! He is a sweet, happy cattle dog mix who brings sunshine wherever he goes! At just 5 months old, he’s full of curiosity, playfulness, and that irresistible puppy charm. He loves making new friends—especially canine ones—and thrives when he has other dogs to romp and wrestle with.

Like many cattle dog mixes, Archer is smart, alert, and eager to engage with his people. He’s at the perfect age to start building great habits and learning new skills. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion.

Archer is looking for an active adopter who understands the needs of herding breeds. Experience with cattle dogs or similar high-energy working breeds is strongly preferred.

He will do best in:
• A standalone home (no apartments or shared walls)
• A securely fenced yard for safe play and zoomies
• An active household committed to daily exercise and mental enrichment
• A family ready to continue all the training that puppies need

He’s still young and learning, so he’ll need guidance with house training, leash skills, basic manners, and appropriate outlets for his energy. In return, he’ll give you endless laughs, loyalty, and love.

Archer is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $550.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
