Meet Mountain
Age: 9 months
Sex: Neutered Male
Breed: Jindo Mix
Color: White
Weight: 14.5 kg (32 lbs)
Height: 49 cm (shoulder)
Rescue Story
Mountain was born on the streets to a mother suffering from a severe skin condition. After a resident reported the family, only the puppies were captured and taken to a city shelter. Tragically, parvo spread through the shelter and all of his siblings passed away except Mountain and one other puppy.
Mountain is a survivor — resilient, gentle, and ready for a second chance at life.
Social with People
Mountain can be a little shy at first, but treats are the fastest way to his heart. Once he feels comfortable, he allows gentle petting and gradually opens up.
He initially had strong resistance to being held, so he is currently working through positive reinforcement touch training to help him feel safe with new people. With familiar people, he accepts affection well and even shows his belly once bonded.
• Comfortable with both men and women
• No experience yet with children under 13
• Can be lifted by supporting under his belly, though being carried is not his favorite
• No food guarding toward people
Social with Other Dogs
Mountain is friendly and affectionate with other dogs. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite play.
• More comfortable with dogs his size or smaller
• Tends to avoid very high-energy dogs
• Gains confidence and emotional stability when another dog is around
Because he relies heavily on canine companionship, he would thrive in a home with another gentle, balanced dog.
Cats
On walks, he watches cats with curiosity but follows his handler when redirected. A formal cat test can be arranged if needed.
Energy Level
Mountain loves playing with dog friends at the yard and enjoys active outdoor time. After exercise, he settles down calmly to rest.
• Finished teething
• Still young, so he enjoys chewing toys and sometimes blankets
• Typical playful adolescent energy balanced with a calm indoor demeanor
Walks
Mountain is still building confidence outdoors. When something unfamiliar appears (approaching people, passing cars), he may stop and hesitate.
• Currently in ongoing leash training
• Walks well in quiet areas
• Nervous on busy roads
• May need patience and gentle encouragement
With consistency and a confident handler, his confidence continues to grow.
Additional Notes
• No food guarding with dogs or people
• No separation anxiety toward humans
• May bark or cry when left completely alone without another dog
• Calm in a kennel
• Afraid of getting into the car and needs to be gently lifted in
• Primarily eliminates outdoors, but may need a little time during walks to go
Mountain is a sensitive, affectionate survivor who blossoms with patience and canine companionship. He is looking for a calm, understanding family who will continue building his confidence and give him the stability he has never truly known.
