What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I adopted Oliver a few weeks ago, knowing he was a shy cat, but as a new cat owner I didn't realize just how fearful he is. Unfortunately, he will not come out from under the bed if I am in the room, which has made it impossible for him to properly meet my resident cat and is causing stress while keeping them separated.
I was told Oliver was extremely stressed at the shelter and was drooling uncontrollably, so they moved him to a quiet room in back, which helped. He does not want to be handled right now. However, when left alone, he happily plays with toys, uses the litter box, eats and drinks well, and enjoys cat trees and caves.
He is about 2.5 years old, neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccinations, though he will need a combo test. I truly believe he needs a calm home without children, where he can be the only cat or have his own space to fully decompress and rebuild trust. When he feels safe, you can see what a sweet, happy boy he is. He just needs the right environment
