My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Johnny — The Calm, Classy Gentleman You’ve Been Waiting For. If you’re a fan of Schitt's Creek, then you already know the vibe. Our Johnny is a lot like Johnny Rose — steady, practical, and the quiet backbone of the family. This handsome tricolored boy (a perfect blend of black, white, and warm brown) carries himself with easy confidence. While other dogs may be busy creating chaos, Johnny prefers to observe, assess, and then calmly stroll over for a tail wag and a polite greeting. He’s the kind of dog who makes everything feel more stable just by being there. Johnny’s personality highlights: Relaxed, easygoing energy Loyal and people-focused without being clingy Thoughtful and observant — he likes to take it all in Always down for a walk, but just as happy lounging nearby Like his television counterpart, Johnny isn’t flashy or dramatic. He’s dependable. He’s warm. He’s the one you can count on. He’d thrive in a home that appreciates a laid-back companion — someone who enjoys peaceful evenings, leisurely walks, and a dog who simply gets it. Johnny would likely do well in a variety of homes thanks to his calm demeanor. Whether you’re a first-time adopter or a seasoned dog parent, he brings a grounding, reassuring presence that makes a house feel like home. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a steady heart and a gentleman’s charm, Johnny is ready to invest fully in his forever family. Adopt Johnny — because every great household deserves its rock. Johnny is current on age appropriate vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm, and will be neutered once he is old enough.

More about this rescue

Wags & Wiggles is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Fort Wayne, Indiana metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.
We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.
Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.
We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process.
Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
