My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lela!
Lela is a wiggly, friendly, and warm ball of love all wrapped up in a dog shaped package. She's smart and eager to learn new tricks for a treat, loves walks, and is always up to play with her stuffies. Lela has lived with young children before and did very well but she's can be a little pushy when excited, so any children should be comfortable with big friendly dogs. She has previously lived with another dog when she was young and even raised a litter of puppies, but she hasn't had much experience meeting new friends since then. Lela does seem a bit nervous of dogs, but we'd be happy to do an introduction to any resident dogs you might have and see if it's a good match.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.

When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.

If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
