We found her outside a week before the freeze almost a month ago. We brought her inside before it dropped below freezing and have kept her since. We took her to a vet a few days ago a found out two things; one she has FIV and two she is chipped. I have searched high and low for whoever owns her. All I have is the chip number, I am assuming they never registered it and I have come to a dead end in finding her owners because the vet that bought the chip from Petlink retired back in 2023 and we cant find any form of contact for him. She is really sweet and deserves a home we cant provide. I have five other cats that play fight a lot and I don't want to risk it spreading to them. My family doesn't have the time or income to care for a cat with FIV. I am scared that if I turn her into a shelter they will just put her down.
