If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Chewy is a 5½‑year‑old, 30‑lb Pekingese/Bichon mix with a huge heart. He recently lost his longtime home when his owner moved into memory care, and he’s ready to bond with a new family. Chewy is playful, cuddly, smart, and great with kids, dogs, and cats. He’s house‑trained, loves fetch and walks, and is calm and snuggly during downtime.
He’s communicative, friendly at the dog park, and never chews anything he shouldn’t. He prefers sleeping in bed with his people but will settle on his pillow if asked. He’s fine being left alone and enjoys bully sticks and rawhides.
Chewy didn’t get training early on, so he may lean or lightly jump when excited and will bark at the doorbell. In the time he's been with us we've been working on “sit” and “come” and is improving with consistency-he’s very smart and eager to please.
He needs regular grooming and takes daily Apoquel for mild allergies. Neutered, vaccinated, and healthy, he’s a loving companion ready for his forever home.
