Meet Elsa 💕🐾

This 4-year-old sweetheart is a shy, sensitive girl looking for a calm home where she can feel safe again. Adopted from us two years ago at 9 pounds, Elsa now weighs 17 pounds and needs a committed adopter to help her return to a healthy weight. Her extra weight makes her uncomfortable being carried, and she can get nervous with loud noises or too much activity.

Elsa feels safest in cozy hideaways and low cubbies, where she can relax and observe at her own pace. Once she’s comfortable, she enjoys gentle head scratches and quiet reassurance 🥰

She’s a loving girl who just needs patience, understanding, and a healthy diet to help her shine again. Her previous owner stated Elsa loved being brushed and only ate dry food (whether due to the cat's preference of the owner's wasn't stated.) With time, love, and commitment, Elsa will blossom into a wonderful companion 💗

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
