Kiernan needs a cat-savvy, patient adopter who understands that trust takes TIME. You need to make an honest connection with him, at his pace, for him to feel safe enough to peek out of his shell. It's all about baby steps with Kieran. In new environments he prefers a cozy hideaway where he can feel safe. He’s watchful & thoughtful, taking his time before showing those little signs of trust: subtle nose twitches sniffing you, softly closing his eyes to relax into gentle head scritches.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
