Meet Penny! She is a very-well bred, very small, French Brittany who is a year and a half old. This little girl will need a very active owner who understands, appreciates, and has experience with the Brittany breed. Anyone interested in Penny will also need to have the time to spend with her to make sure her exercise and training needs are met. Penny becomes neurotic quickly if she does not get immense amounts of exercise and stimulation. Being locked in a kennel or crate for hours a day is simply not an option. Penny is a very good girl when she gets miles of exercise per day without exception.
Penny is also a dominant female. This means that she would not be a candidate for an owner with small children. She is born to hunt. No amount of training will change this basic drive. She does get along with her fosters' other dogs but she can get too physical with dogs who are submissive so this is also something to consider for potential adopters.
Penny has an incredible bond to her humans. She loves to climb in laps and be held and petted and craves attention. She walks well on a lead and is learning obedience commands quickly. Smart? Wow! Penny is very smart!! Penny is almost potty-trained. This girl wants to please but she also wants to run free. For this reason, adopters will need a home with a large yard that is surrounded by a very secure, 6 foot privacy fence.
Penny is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.00. If you are interested in making Penny a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab. If interested, contact Patti at 801.641.4053 after completing an application. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs. We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
