Meet Finch Finch is one of those dogs who might start off a little quietly… and then completely steal your heart. This handsome, slender boy came to us as a stray and while his past is a mystery, what we do know is that Finch is gentle, thoughtful, and quietly brave. Finch can be shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—there’s courage under that soft exterior. He likes people and will approach with polite curiosity, offering soft tail wags in exchange for treats or a kind hand. Once he realizes you’re safe, his sweetness really shines through. He seems to enjoy the company of other respectful dogs and may even be open to some playful friendships once he’s comfortable. On leash, Finch walks fairly well, though he can be a little unsure at times and will look to his person for reassurance and guidance. He’s the kind of dog who wants to trust you—and when he does, it’s pretty special. When Finch arrived, he was underweight, but thankfully food is one of life’s great joys for him. With regular meals and love, he’s gained weight easily and is looking healthier every day. We don’t have any history with cats, so it’s hard to say how he’d do, but with dog-savvy cats and slow, thoughtful introductions, it could be possible. As for kids, we haven’t tested that either—but based on his gentle nature, we feel he would likely do well with respectful children of any age. Finch could thrive in an apartment, townhome, or detached house—what matters most is that his needs are met and he has patient, kind humans to help him continue building confidence. If you’re looking for a soft soul with a brave heart, a dog who will bond deeply and blossom with love, Finch just might be your guy.
