Dog Friendly Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. He's only met dogs once and took a second to warm up and feel comfortable enough to play, but his previous owner reports he's great with dogs of all sizes/ages and loves to play.

Cat Friendly Unknown

Kids Yes to kids 12 years old or older

Apartment Friendly Yes

Fence Requirements Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise

Crate Trained Yes

Potty Trained Yes

Ideal Home / Adopter Someone who is home a lot, as he likes to be with you and be involved in whatever you're doing. He is big on playing and needs attention/to be played with in order to be happy. (He will play on his own as well, but really likes playing with people the most). Probably best with adults or older kids, as he is clumsy and might knock a small child over. He's also mouthy. Never bites, but likes to put his mouth on you when you're playing or giving him a really good belly rub. He's a wonderful dog and really just wants someone to love and be there for him.

Likes Bug is always happy. He LOVES to play with toys and run around in the yard. He's alway got a toy by his side and is ready to go on a moment's notice. He seems to love everyone he meets. It's hard NOT to love him because he's such a friendly little ray of sunshine.

Dislikes being alone (if we leave he whines for a couple minutes but then settles down). He HATES to be picked up, and not a huge fan of grooming but will cooperate for treats.

Training He knows sit, lay down, spin, and "go to your crate

We've had several fosters, but Bug is our favorite. Bug is a head-tilting champion. When you talk to him his head is always tilting back and forth--it's adorable. He's always happy with a smile on his face, wagging his tail. He's simply a joy to be around and always has us laughing with his goofball antics. He's got a great stretch that starts out as stretching his front legs in the "downward dog" position and then he just slides out all the way until he's sprawled out on the floor, laying on his belly with his legs outstretched behind him. He also falls asleep with toys in his mouth.

All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.

More about this rescue

RESCUEDohio was founded on August 1, 2015 by a group of dedicated animal lovers in the central Ohio area. The founders came from various different vocational backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: the passion to save dogs. Before starting RESCUEDohio, they were previously involved in different aspects of rescue, including fostering, fundraising, coordinating and training. The mission of this group is to help find homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs and to advocate for the rights of all animals everywhere.
