Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hermey — The Shy Sweetheart With the Biggest Purr
Hermey is a soft, fluffy, medium‑haired kitten who was found in the Ross, Ohio area alongside his brother, Thisbe. He may start off a little unsure, but once he knows you’re safe, he turns into a purring machine. Pick him up, and he starts rumbling like he’s been waiting for that moment all day.
Hermey has a gentle soul with a playful streak. He can be shy at first and may swat when he’s unsure but it’s all play, not aggression. Once you understand his style, it becomes clear he’s just a goofy kitten figuring out how to interact with the world.
Personality Highlights
• Starts purring the moment he’s held (once he trusts you)
• Shy at first but warms up beautifully
• Play‑swats when excited — it’s his version of fun
• LOVES his fuzzy mouse toy… which somehow always ends up in his water bowl
• Good with other cats and kittens after a proper introduction
• Sweet, soft, and eager to bond with his person
Hermey is the perfect mix of silly, sweet, and sensitive — a kitten who just needs a little patience to show his full personality.
Ideal Home
Hermey would thrive with:
• A patient adopter who understands shy kittens
• A calm home where he can build confidence
• Another friendly cat or kitten (optional, but he enjoys feline company)
• Someone who appreciates a playful, quirky companion
He’s still young, still learning, and still blossoming — and he’s ready to become someone’s forever friend.
HART recommends kittens 6 months of age and younger be adopted in pairs.
If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at www.rescueahart.org/adopt/cat-application. The application will put you in touch with a HART volunteer.
All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative.
