My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ash!

Ash is a stunning white and grey long haired beauty with a soft coat and an even softer heart. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her a bit of patience and kindness, and you'll see her true personality blossom.

Once Ash feels comfortable, she becomes an incredibly affectionate, loving companion. She'll reward your gentle approach with the biggest, happiest purrs and will even flop right over to invite you in for those coveted belly rubs. It's her special way of saying she trusts you completely.

Ash has previously lived well with other cats and may enjoy having a calm feline friend in her new home. She's looking for a patient adopter who will give her the time she needs to settle in - and in return, she'll give you endless sweetness, love, and those irresistible purrs.

If you're ready to watch a shy girl turn into your most devoted cuddle buddy, Ash is waiting to meet you.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
