Meet Ruft: A Senior Shih Tzu in Need of a Loving Home
Ruft is a charming 14-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs a petite 8 pounds. Sadly, he was left alone in an empty house after his owner passed away. This has understandably left him feeling scared and anxious, but beneath his initial wariness is a heart full of love, waiting to be shared.
Health and Care
Ruft is fully vetted and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He is microchipped, neutered, and has tested negative for heartworm. Despite his age, Ruft is in good health and ready to find a new forever home.
Personality and Training Needs
Although Ruft may be a bit nippy when first introduced—likely a result of his recent experiences—he quickly warms up and becomes very affectionate. With a little patience and understanding, Ruft is sure to become a loyal companion.
Training
Ruft will require some work on potty and crate training, but he is already making great progress. He is also okay on a leash, though he may need a bit more practice to become fully comfortable.
Ruft is a bit food aggressive so will not do well with other dogs.
Ideal Home
Given his recent experiences, a quieter, adult-only home would be the best fit for Ruft. This environment would provide the stability and calmness he needs to thrive. While he doesn’t enjoy visits to the vet, with the right care and love, Ruft will surely settle into his new life.
If you're looking to add a loving companion to your home and have the patience to help Ruft adjust, he could be the perfect match for you. With love and time, Ruft is sure to become an irreplaceable member of your family.
