I may do best with an owner who has had experience owning or caring for shy and fearful dogs.

I am a sweet and sensitive boy who takes a little time to build trust and make friends.

Once you've given me time to adjust, I will show you I am the BIGGEST sweetheart.

There is a 100% chance I will make you fall in love with me OR melt your heart.

Pucker up! I like to give kisses.

I may be picky about my canine companions. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.

I have a history of being sensitive while walking on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!

Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.

Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.

Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!

Meet and greets are done on a first-come/first-served basis. There may be a wait time during our busiest times, including the weekends.

We do not offer holds on any animals at this time.

Additional adoption info

Oregon Humane Society’s Portland and Salem campuses are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days per week. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you come to the shelter and see a pet you are interested in meeting, please take note of the pet’s name and visit the front desk in the lobby. Our Customer Care team will be happy to assist you with the next steps.
