Ned came to us in 2019 as a young puppy, given to us by a coworker, and he quickly became a beloved part of our family. In his early years, he had 10 acres to explore, spent his days playing with other dogs, and went everywhere with us. He truly thrived in a wide-open, active environment.
When the property we were living on was sold, we had to move into town. Although we love Ned dearly, the smaller space and our busy work schedules have made it difficult to give him the consistent exercise and freedom he needs. After our son was born in 2023, Ned—who has always been an anxious dog—struggled to adjust. Over the past few years, he has shown nervous behaviors around children and strangers, likely influenced by a negative experience in 2020 when he was struck with a walking stick by a neighbor.
This has been a very difficult decision for our family, but we know Ned would do best in a calm, spacious home with someone who can give him the time, patience, and room to run that he deserves.
