My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Guapo means "handsome" in Spanish, and our boy certainly fits that description. He is about two an a half years old, and was well loved before his family needed to surrender him due to life changes. Guapo is an unusual lavender tabby. He is a friendly fellow, willing to be picked up and cuddled. He doesn't understand why he is no longer home, but hopefully the right family or person can help him feel hopeful and content once again.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. You can also contact us directly regarding a pet seen here and we will set up a time for you to meet them in person. Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
