Meet Jewel — The Crown Jewel of Your Family

Jewel is a young, sleek black beauty who just might be the missing sparkle in your home. With her silky coat and bright, curious eyes, she truly lives up to her name — a rare and precious gem.

This sweet girl loves nothing more than curling up on your chest for pets, purring contentedly while soaking in all the affection you’re willing to give. She can be delightfully chatty, happily carrying on little conversations with you about her day. Curious and playful, Jewel enjoys exploring her surroundings, chasing toys, and finding the perfect sunny window for her afternoon lounging sessions.

Jewel was discovered abandoned in a colony of feral cats, and it was immediately clear she didn’t belong there. Friendly, trusting, and far too loving for life on her own, she was scooped up by the compassionate colony feeder and welcomed into a safe, nurturing foster home. Now she’s thriving — and ready for her forever family.

She has been raised with other cats and small dogs and adjusts beautifully to multi-pet households. Jewel would flourish in a home where treats are plentiful, love comes freely, and sunny windows are abundant.

All of HALO's cats are available for adoptions have been spayed or neutered and up-to-date on their vaccinations.

All the animals are microchipped.

Dogs and cats receive a complete check by a veterinarian.

Go meet their pets

HALO's cats and kittens can be seen at Pet Food Express every Friday 4pm-7pm plus Saturday and Sunday 10am-1:30pm (except the third Saturday, we do not have an adoption event). Pet Food Express is located at 5829 Lone Tree Way B, Antioch, CA.

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
