My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bonnie-Poodle/Dalmation female DOB 12-31-23 (Feb. 2026) Harlequin
Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application
Bonnie came to Rescue through a Prison Training Program. She's been taking classes every day and doing quite well. She's crate trained, has obedience training, husbandry and grooming skills. As she's been in a Prison, we do not know about children or cats yet, but she will be tested when moved to her foster home. If you want to know about the Dalmadoodle...

A Dalmadoodle is a cross between a purebred Dalmatian and a purebred Standard Poodle. This pairing is intentional, not accidental, and is designed to balance:

The Dalmatian’s loyalty, athleticism, and alert nature

The Standard Poodle’s intelligence, trainability, and often low-shedding coat

The result is a dog that is smart, people-focused, active, and deeply bonded to its family.

Temperament is one of the biggest reasons families are drawn to Dalmadoodles. They are:

Affectionate and people-oriented

Intelligent and eager to learn

Loyal to their family

Alert without being aggressive

Playful, but capable of settling with proper routine

Dalmadoodles tend to form strong bonds with their owners and do best in homes where they are included in daily life. This is not a breed that thrives when left alone for long periods with little interaction.

Because of their intelligence, they do especially well with owners who enjoy training, structure, and engagement.
Bonnie's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting her ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Please include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to request an application from rescuebc@hotmail.com. Please allow 1-2 days to receive the application. Please be patient as we are 100% volunteer supported. We will need several days to make the calls on your application. The current pets in the home must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and annual exams, and currently on heartworm preventative for dogs. You must be 21 years of age and gainfully employed.
Once you are approved, a volunteer will contact you and invite you to a Meet and Greet to visit with a pet. All our pets are fostered in private homes and only come to the event when they have a potential adopter.
Plan to spend 1-2 hours at the Meet and Greet. It takes time to unload our pets and give them an opportunity to relieve themselves. You will have time to visit with a pet to decide if this is the right pet for your family. You will be required to sign a legal contract and we will go over the medical records with you. You will be required to take your new pet to the vet within 7 days of adopting.
We charge an adoption fee for all of our animals. This fee varies depending on the vetting requirements of that particular animal. The adoption fee is cash only.
If you have any questions, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com.

More about this rescue

Rescue BC is a multi-faceted, foster-based rescue. Our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated up to date as age appropriate, dogs over 6 months old are tested for heartworm, puppies/kittens are dewormed.
Our pets are rescued from rural Kentucky shelters that will euthanize if overcrowded. Our rescue helps to prevent overcrowding in the shelters and to help these pets find new homes. If you would be interested in fostering for us please email rescuebc@hotmail.com.
