Meet Alpine ❄️ Alpine is a confident, spirited one-year-old boy with a big personality and a sweet side for those who understand him. He’s not fearful or aggressive, just particular—if he doesn’t like something or feels crowded (especially around other cats) he may swat or nip, so he’s looking for an experienced cat owner who can read his body language and respect his boundaries; the good news is he redirects easily with play or treats and loves interactive games, especially chase-style play. Alpine doesn’t get along with every cat, but he has made select friends and could live happily as a solo cat with plenty of engagement or with the right confident feline companion. He’ll come sit next to you for affection, enjoys head scratches, needs daily brushing to keep his coat in great shape (even if it’s not his favorite), and will benefit from a family who keeps an eye on his waistline—an incredibly rewarding boy for someone who appreciates a cat with character and charm. 💙
All Tri-Valley Animal Rescue kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and preventatively treated for fleas and worms. A FeLV/FIV test can be run upon request for a fee.

Also, volunteers who monitor this email do not know the animals whereas the fosters do!
If a dog or puppy is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (available here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TVAR/Dog). We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions. Kittens do not need applications completed - just contact the foster!
If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process.
All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, treated for worms and fleas, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $120-$350. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily place shelter animals in foster care of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our East County Animal Shelter shelter volunteers who socialize shelter animals daily and assist the public in selecting a pet to adopt.
