History: Tiger Lily needed a second chance at a good life and arrived to rescue with the help of Lightshine Rescue whose efforts are focused on a rural reservation in South Dakota where resources are low.
A Note from the Foster: I’m Tiger Lily! I’m a 3.5 month old cutie who loves playing with stuffies, my big brother resident dog, and spending time with my people. I’ve begun potty training and have made great progress! My mom has learned that she really needs to limit my water or I’ll guzzle it down. But if I have water at set times and go out consistently, I’ll hardly have any accidents. I sometimes pee when I get really excited, so we do extra potty before and after play and meeting new people. Its a work in progress, but I should be a pro in no time!
Some great things about me:
I sleep in my kennel quietly through the night with no accidents! I am an early riser (5:45 am) but my foster mom thinks I’ll sleep longer pretty soon here as I settle in more.
I’m pretty calm and am content just playing with my stuffies or watching what my people are up to, but a dog I can play with and learn from would be great! I feel very safe and relaxed when my foster big brother dog is nearby, especially outside at night where there’s weird noises or shadows. I am pretty tired by evening and love to curl up on the couch with my foster mom for evening tv cuddle time.
I’ve already learned sit, and am pretty good about sitting patiently for doors to open.
I am very gentle with taking treats. I love to nibble on your hands but I do it very softly!
I do spend time in the kennel during the day while my mom works. I’m very vocal about not liking it, so probably no shared walls. I do fall asleep eventually - how long it takes depends on how much play I’ve had. But I’m figuring out these routines and becoming more calm in the kennel each day.
There are no kids or cats in my current foster home, so I’m not yet experienced with them.
My foster mom is so sad she can’t keep me longer, but has too busy of a schedule outside of work over the next month.
