About Me – From My Foster Family:

Jack was lovingly surrendered along with his two housemates due to a change in his owner’s housing situation. It was a very difficult decision, and it’s clear he was well cared for. He recently had a dental and is feeling much more comfortable — though he does have very few teeth remaining, which just adds to his adorable little smile.

Jack has shown that he adapts nicely with time, patience, and reassurance. Like many Chihuahuas, he can be a bit sensitive and easily startled. He isn’t comfortable with people running nearby or leaning over him, and he will let you know if he feels unsure by growling. If truly frightened, he may attempt to lunge to ask for space, so he needs a home that will respect his space and understand his cues. Because of this, he is best suited for a calm, predictable household.

Jack is crate trained and settles nicely in his crate at night, where he sleeps quietly. He is potty trained on a schedule, and while he did mark a few times when he first arrived — which is not uncommon during transitions — he does well with consistency, routine, and gentle guidance.

At heart, Jack is a devoted, low-energy companion. His very favorite thing to do is keep your lap warm. Once he feels safe, he loves to snuggle close, soak up affection, and simply be near his person. He has a sweet, quirky personality and will thrive in a peaceful home where he can relax and be someone’s cherished little shadow.

About Me – From Jack:

Hi, I’m Jack. I may seem a little serious at first, but I’m really just a small guy who feels safest in a calm home. Once I know you, I’m all about cuddles.

My favorite place in the whole world? Your lap. I take my job of keeping it warm very seriously. I love gentle pets — especially behind my ears — and I have plenty of sweet kisses to share once I feel safe.

Additional adoption info

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. Search adoptable animals & complete application.

2. Application Processing Team will review/process application, conduct background screening & contact vet/personal references.

3. Foster provider schedules a “meet & greet" with applicant. Resident dogs & ALL people (including children) living or frequently visiting the applicant's home are REQUIRED to attend the meet & greet.

4. If the foster provider & adopter agree to move forward, a home visit will be scheduled. Long-distance adopters can request home visit prior to meet & greet to avoid multiple trips.

5. After the home visit is approved, payment & adoption contract will be completed. You will receive your contract via e-mail from DocuSign & your invoice via e-mail from PayPal. PayPal can be paid by credit, debit or PayPal account (you do NOT need a PayPal account).

6. Once payment, adoption contract, & age-appropriate vetting are complete, the new owners can pick up their pet! Adopters are required to bring their own leash & collar at pick-up.

Vetting records are sent by email 5-7 business days post-adoption, again, keep an eye on your email during this time, including your spam folder. Sometimes our emails get lost).
