My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bast is a 6-year-old Doberman/Golden Retriever. We've had him since he was a puppy, he is house & crate trained, playful and enjoys being outside, he loves his ball and wrestling with his 1/2 brother, Trip. I am in need of assistance rehoming Bast due to behavioral challenges I am not equipped to safely manage. Bast has food aggression with other dogs and has snipped/bit me on more than one occasion, usually when surprised or in an anxious situation. In October he bit our two year old son on the arm (it is unclear what the trigger was in this situation). Ultimately it is not safe to keep him in the house with a small child. We feel like we have let Bast and our son down. My goal is to find a safe environment where Bast can receive the specialized training and care he needs to thrive, which I am no longer able to provide. We are struggling with this decision and it’s breaking our hearts, but I believe this is the best decision for his well-being and the safety of my family and others.
