My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY***

Total Adoption Fee: $695
This includes our standard adoption fee of $395 plus an additional required $300 tax-deductible donation. Why the additional donation? Dogs with highly desirable traits—such as non-shedding coats or popular breeds—help us fund lifesaving care for dogs who need it most, including nursing moms, dogs with traumatic injuries, and those requiring heartworm treatment (i.e. dogs who require more intensive medical treatment and care prior to adoption). Your generosity makes this possible!

Ward is just too cute for words. His eyes are mesmerizing and his fuzzy Mohawk hairdo is a sight to see! This boy is full of heart and soul, and he likes nothing more than snuggling up next to you and giving kisses. Ward gets along great with other dogs of a variety of sizes, and even cats. When he's not loving on you, he enjoys playing with stuffed toys, and might even sneak away a shoe of yours to play with!

Ward does well at meal time and is not picky about food or treats, making him easy to train. As a bonus, he seems to already be potty trained, likely just needing some reinforcement in a new home. Ward loves to go outside and on walks with you and does well on a leash, though he is a curious fellow who likes to collect the sniffs on both sides of the sidewalk. He tends to be interested in whatever you are doing, but is also content finding a quiet place to nap indoors. Ward is a perfectly sized little buddy who will bring the fun when you bring him home!

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
