My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley -  Poodle mix
DOB - Feb 17 2014 -12 yrs young
She is 35 pounds
no mobility problems ... appears to have good sight/hearing
housetrained ... stands by the door when she needs to go out. No accidents in the house.
spayed ... vacc utd ... microchipped.
Harley does have a few lumps/bumps which have been checked by vet and are of no concern.
She's had some past issues with UTI, has been treated and she is clear now
Harley's owner passed away
She was raised with older children 11-12yrs old
Harley is a smart, sweet, gentle lady...always happy
She is well behaved and knows basic commands along with a few tricks.
She loves people ... has no issues with strangers
- no guarding with food or toys
- loves her food/treats
Harley loves playing fetch ... she greets you at the door with a gift, her favourite octopus stuffy.
- really enjoys being outdoors but happier to just hangout in the house with her family. .
- some barking outside.  She will chase squirrels
- travels well in a car tho slightly nervous.
- good on leash
- no issues with handling ...easy to groom ... fussy with nail trims tho manageable
- super good girl at the vets
- crates well if needed ... we do not crate her ... she has no issues being left on her own.
Loves to cuddle up extra close on the couch or bed.
Harley loves sleeping in bed with her people but she is also ok if required to sleep in her own, comfy bed.
She lives with Annie, a dog who doesn't care to interact with other dogs although they do like to hang out together in the yard
She's had to share the house with visiting Goldens ... she appreciates her space.  I don't think Harley would tolerate puppies.
- barks at dogs she sees on TV
cats unknown
small children unknown

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our process begins with an online pre adoption questionnaire followed by a telephone interview
Once both have been completed we consider suitability and if we feel the adoption candidate is a potential match we arrange a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in
From there we schedule a home visit and check personal and veterinary references.

Go meet their pets

All our dogs are in foster homes so meet and greets are by appointment only

Foster Homes
Sadly, each new day brings a flood of emails and telephone pleas to help yet another abandoned dear dog. We try and help these displaced dogs through our rescue efforts and networking. We are always in search of new foster homes where a dog can be cared for and loved until a permanent home is found. Speaking of Dogs Rescue covers food, medical attention and all the supplies required for the dogs in foster care. Foster parents need be responsible and patient people who will provide a safe environment for our dogs. A foster contract must be signed. This is a serious responsibility; however the experience is very rewarding. If you can open your heart and home to a foster dog please contact us. We have a comprehensive Foster Manual available for people who are considering becoming a foster parent.
