Possum is so smart and so sweet. Loves kisses and belly rubs, will play all day with anything that bounces or squeaks, and has already made so much progress with her puppy training. Has learned how to sit and walk on a leash; and is truly capable of learning so much more. She also has the cutest face and her little ears flop around on her head.
She is still learning to share, as she has shown a tendency to resource guard with food and toys. She does still play with siblings and has the potential to live in a home with other dogs.
She is seeking a home with pet parents who are intuitive about dog behavior, and have experience in a multi-dog household. Otherwise, we would recommend she be the only pet.

All American Mix. Her mama appears to be a Boxer mix. We think they may potentially have some pitbull terrier, lab, hound.
We try to limit our travel time for home visits to a two-hour driving range (about 75 miles) from Morganton, NC.

The adoption fee is $100 - seniors always receive a 25% reduction in adoption fee as does a veteran or military person. Both discounts may be combined.

A Better Life Animal Rescue, Inc. is a no-kill foster home-based rescue organization located in Burke County, North Carolina. We do not operate an animal shelter. We rely on volunteer foster families to provide temporary care for rescued dogs and cats until they can either be matched with loving, responsible, permanent adoptive families or until lost pets can be reunited with their own loving families.
