My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sundance is looking for a foster home to come into rescue!

Sundance is a 7-year-old male who’s truly a happy, easygoing companion. He’s affectionate, gentle, and loves attention — especially belly rubs, chin scratches, and being close to his people. He has a soft spot for the ladies, but he’s been good with everyone he’s met, including men and the staff at the vet.

He’s fully house trained and has excellent manners in the home. He isn’t kennel trained because he’s always been trusted out — he’s used to having his own couch and will gladly curl up next to you in bed if invited.

Sundance enjoys car rides, pup cups, Buddy Biscuits, and chasing his frisbee in the yard. He loves going for walks and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys running — he stays focused and does well keeping pace. A fenced yard would be ideal so he can safely run and play.

In the past, he visited dog parks and happily ran with other dogs. After a few experiences where other dogs repeatedly picked on him, those visits stopped for his safety. He’s never shown aggression. Because of that history, thoughtful introductions to other dogs would be best. With cats, he tends to watch them closely but has never lunged or acted aggressively.

Last year, Sundance developed some anxiety. Under his vet’s guidance, he started Prozac, which has helped significantly. His anxiety is well managed, and he’s back to his normal, steady self.

This search for a foster — and ultimately a forever home — is being made out of love and responsibility. His owner wants to ensure he has stability and companionship moving forward as their personal and work life has changed and they can no longer give him the attention he deserves

Sundance is a good dog. He’s loving, loyal, and ready to settle into a home where he can be someone’s steady companion.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is simple. The very first step is to fill out our adoption interest form through our website.

We'll look over your application and determine if the animal you are interested in is a good match for your family. If it looks like a good match, we will contact you to set up a time for you to meet the animal. If you decide after meeting him/her that you want to move forward with adoption, we will set up a home visit and finalize the adoption! Please note that filling out an interest form does not guarantee adoption of an animal, and we don't adopt out animals on a first come first serve basis. We endeavor to find the best match for all animals and families.

Adoption fees cover age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter (if old enough), and costs involved in caring for the animals up to the point of adoption. Adoption fees also help fund veterinary costs of animals who come to rescue that need extra care.
