My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Hot Dawg and I am a sweet and affectionate kitty looking for a home without young kiddos. I have FIV, and I haven`t been fond of other cats here at the shelter so I will need to be your only furry friend. Meet me today!

This cat/kitten tested positive for FIV.
FIV-positive cats do not inherently have a shorter lifespan; studies show they can often live as long as uninfected cats. While the virus weakens a cat`s immune system, making it more vulnerable to secondary infections, proper care—including a good diet, regular vet check-ups, and a low-stress, indoor-only environment—allows many FIV-positive cats to have a normal, healthy life.
