Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Big things fit in small packages with this burst of sunshine. Short and compact, this bounding bowling ball of pure joy is very athletic despite his small size. He won’t be the biggest guy at the park, but he will be one of the friendliest. He enjoys playing with big and small dogs and makes friends easily with his charming personality. We think he’s a Corgi x Terrier mix which roughly breaks down to 10% legs, 10% head, and 80% belly.
He’s roughly 5 years old and tells amazing stories while being held like a baby and having his belly scratched. This is the point where he wanted me to emphasize that he’s looking for at least 1 dedicated person, but ideally he’s thinking more like a team concept, to attend to his belly rub requirements (3-5x healthy scratches per day). He’d also like me to mention that he makes the best alarm clock ever with invigorating morning kisses to start the new day. With that said, he’s ready to fill your days with joy and unbreakable companionship for the right family.
As a surrender from a person who has passed away you can tell this guy recently lost a loved one and will take some time to heal. Despite his recent loss, signs point to him being well taken care of and well loved. He’s very affectionate, loves being a part of a pack, and loves licking faces. He'll need some additional socialization, car, and obedience training but is very bright and has all the basics down. A possible clerical mistake has his name as Brown, however, he doesn’t respond to it and so perhaps a name change might be the best thing for this little guy as he enters the next phase of his life.
At 33 lbs and yet still body positive, he’s working hard at losing a few pounds for his overall health - and to look great for swimsuit season. He’d make a great guard dog except for the fact that he’s susceptible to kidnapping as he will follow anyone into any vehicle if treats or belly rubs are involved.
This little guy is looking for a forever home that needs a lot of love to give and share. Perhaps best for active homes and homes that have older children (12 and above) would be the ideal fit for this spark plug. If you think we're a good match please reach out because I'd love to meet you.
All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue
Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
