Being near Capri is almost as relaxing as actually being on an Italian island vacation. She's an absolute cuddle bug who can't wait to be near you the second you get home. She loves to lay on your lap, especially if you're giving her pets, and purr her little heart out to show you how happy she is. At night, you won't find her running around with midnight zoomies. Instead, she'll be in bed next to you, and you can bet she'll find her way onto your chest to sleep. If she's not in your lap, she's somewhere close by, resting on something soft and cozy. Capri absolutely adores chin scratches and melts right into your hand when getting them, becoming a purring puddle. This sweet girl is just waiting for her forever home to come around, so she can try to make her human just as happy as they make her.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
