Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS ANIMAL HAS AN ADOPTION HOLD*
Meet Ferrari! This beautiful tortie lady came to TCHS as a stray with an unknown background. She spent some time in foster care to grow better socialized with people, but now she is ready for a home of her own!
Ferrari is initially fearful of new people and environments and may take a little time to warm up. Once she is comfortable with you, she will roll around for your attention and start up one of the loudest purrs you'll ever hear (hence the name)! Her adopter should be prepared to allow her a little time and space she needs to adjust at her own pace.
Ferrari has met other cats and did well. Though she was not introduced directly to the resident large dogs in her foster home, it is likely she may be fearful of the commotion. Due to her timid nature, she may thrive best in a quieter home setting without excess activity such as multiple playful dogs or several young children.
She loves wet food and enjoys lickable treats like churu. She can be very playful and would benefit from a feline playmate in her new home. Slow and proper introductions are always important when bringing home a new pet.
*Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee.
**Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Animals are adopted quickly from Tri-County Humane Society, so we advise you to place an adoption hold if you are interested in a specific animal.
Adoption holds are $25 plus tax. To place an adoption hold on a pet, call us at (320) 252-0896 and have your Visa, Discover, American Express, or Mastercard ready; holds also can be placed in person at the shelter. NOTE: Tri-County Humane Society CANNOT reserve an animal without an adoption hold. (Holds cannot be placed through email or social media messaging.)
HOW ADOPTION HOLDS WORK: The $25 plus tax “hold” reserves the TCHS animal of your choice for one day. We do take multiple holds, but it’s always first come, first served. People do change their minds about adoption, and that’s OK - if you’ve fallen in love, you may want to place an additional hold!
THE DETAILS: All holds are nonrefundable and nontransferable. It is a fee for a service (to hold the animal for you); the adoption fee plus tax will still need to be paid in full. If the animal is not adopted by the person with the hold, the pet is available again.
WHAT THE “HOLD” MONEY GOES TO: It helps support our nonprofit animal shelter and the 5,000-plus animals we care for every year!
