My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna is a beautiful and sweet seven-month-old female tri-color American guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.

Someone purchased her at a pet store in Chicago not knowing that she was pregnant. She gave birth to four little boys a month ago. Because they were all male, they had to be separated right away.

Luna loves other guinea pigs and would do well with another female, or with a neutered male.

Luna enjoys unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, fresh salad, fruits, veggies and pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch squares of red pepper, a vitamin C cookie, and some of their dark leafy greens.

Luna deserves a guinea pig loving home with people who will handle her daily, keeps her well-fed, nails trimmed, and habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Luna, please fill out an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

Her adoption fee of $40 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $75, you can purchase her Midwest guinea pig cage (two-foot by four-foot), and all the supplies you’ll need to get you started.

She is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
