Hootie is extremely laid back and lovable. He wants to be snuggled up next to people at all times and loves to be pet.
We have three young children, including a three-year-old with severe autism who requires a high level of daily care and supervision. We live in a smaller home, and we recently attempted to move the litter boxes out of our laundry room due to sanitation concerns and persistent odor in that space. Although the new location was easily accessible, our cats refused to use the litter boxes in the new room and began urinating on furniture and carpet. Additionally, our older cat, Hootie, has been consistently defecating outside the litter box for some time. With three small children in the home, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment is essential. Unfortunately, we have not been able to resolve the litter box issues, and we do not have the time or capacity to retrain them while managing the demands of our children — particularly our autistic son.
