My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

About Apollo & Rocky

Hi, we’re Apollo 💙 and Rocky 💛, two best friends who were found together on the streets of Houston. We stuck together, looked out for each other, and somehow managed to avoid the shelter until help found us 🥹 Now that we are safe, we have just one big wish: to stay together forever.

I’m Apollo 💙, the calm one. I’m about 2 to 3 years old, low energy, and happiest lounging near my person 🥰 I bond deeply and like to stay close, quietly watching the world go by. I enjoy my daily 30 to 40 minute walks. I’m leash trained, potty trained, and I do great in the car 🚙 I know sit and lay down, I love my crate, and treats are absolutely my love language. I do need to eat in my kennel because I like my food to myself, so I’m hoping for someone with breed experience who understands boundaries and structure. I’m wonderful out in public, like at coffee shops ☕️ or Lowe’s 🔨 I listen beautifully, and I do well with kids 8 and up. I’m social with other dogs but prefer to observe rather than jump into the action. Also, I may or may not be a big Paw Patrol fan 💙

And I’m Rocky 💛, the life of the party. I’m also about 2 to 3 years old, I have a docked tail, and I bring the fun wherever I go ☺️ I love to play, I love to dance, and if you ask for my paw, I’ll happily give it 🐾 I’m kennel trained, leash trained, potty trained, and I ride great in the car. Baths are no big deal for me, and I don’t react to the water hose or even the leaf blower. Like my brother, I need to be fed in my kennel alone; I just prefer my meals that way. Once I’m done eating, I’m ready to play and make you smile 😃

Together, we balance each other perfectly. I bring the calm loyalty, Rocky brings the joyful energy. We both love treats, structure, and knowing what to expect. We are social but not pushy, affectionate but not overwhelming. We have already been through enough change in our short lives, so staying together would mean everything to us 🥹

If you have breed experience, appreciate routine, and want two boys who are equal parts steady and silly, we promise to fill your home with loyalty, laughter, and twice the love. We survived the streets together, and now we just need a forever home together 🏡

More about this rescue

R.E.A.L Rottweiler Rescue was founded in 2003 by a couple with a passion and love for the Rottweiler breed. We are an all volunteer based 501c3 non-profit rescue organization. Our primary focus has been on Rottweilers, but we also rescue medium and large sized dogs of all breeds. We take in homeless rottweilers and work with them in our homes to assess personality, temperament, training and needs. Then place them up for adoption. Our goal is to find not just any home for each dog, but the perfect match for both the dog and its new family. To date, R.E.A.L. has had over 2000 successful adoptions!
