My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

May is living in a foster home! Please submit an application from our website or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you're a match!

May is a sweet, quiet girl who came to us when her owner was unable to care for her due to his medical issues. May lived with her owner since she was a baby puppy, and it was obvious she was very well loved and cared for. She came to us with her crate, her bed, her blanket, and all her toys! Since shelter life can be extra tough for dogs who only know life in a home, we got her into a foster right away!

May's previous owner wanted us to know what a good girl she is, so he gave us a lot of information about her. We know she is housebroken and crate trained. She is shy, but affectionate with both humans and other dogs. We asked him for a description of May, and this is what he said:

"May is a cuddly 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog/King Charles Spaniel mix. She loves walks and playing with her toys until she is tired, at which point she just wants to be a lap dog. She knows basic commands like sit and stay, is house and crate trained, and does decent on a leash. She's still working on not jumping on people when super excited, but she is very friendly and loves giving kisses. She is quiet and well behaved, and responds extra well when treats are involved. May is good with other dogs, though may need a slow introduction as she can be shy sometimes (but once she warms up all she wants to do is Play!). May is a sweetheart and is very affectionate and loves spending the evening snuggled up on the couch.".

The forever home May deserves is definitely out there. Is it yours?

May's adoption fee is $375. This animal is spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
