Hello there, I’m your future professional lounger, Baked Bean! I’m a beautiful grey cat with striking green eyes and a true talent for relaxation. If there were medals for cozy naps and sunny window poses, I’d have a whole collection by now. I believe life is meant to be enjoyed slowly — preferably stretched out in a warm patch of sunlight. I’m a calm, easygoing companion who loves a peaceful home. You’ll often find me perched on the back of the couch, supervising your day, or curled up nearby while you read, watch TV, or work. I’m not one for constant chaos — I much prefer soft blankets, gentle pets, and quiet company. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy attention! I love chin scratches, slow head rubs, and those sweet moments when I can blink at you lovingly and settle in close. And when I want attention, I`ll ask politely by giving gentle headbutts to whoever is near. I’m affectionate in a relaxed, low-key way — the kind of friend who’s always there, just without all the drama. What`s not to love? Can`t wait to meet you!
Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Baltimore County, now known as the Baltimore Humane Society (BHS), was founded in 1927 by a pioneering and compassionate socialite named Elsie Seeger Barton (1886-1983).
In 1902, at age 16, Miss Seeger was stricken with rheumatic fever and was confined to her bed. During that time, her constant companions were the family’s beloved pets. It was at that time that Ms. Seeger resolved to devote her life to the care and humane treatment of companion and service animals. When she became well, she established a refuge for abused and homeless animals on her family’s estate, known as “Thistle Top” on Milford Road in Pikesville, MD, overlooking Gwynn’s Falls Dam. In 1908 she married Bolling Walker Barton, Jr., President of Barton, Duet & Koch Paper Company.
