My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Scout is a 5 year old, 75 lb German Wirehaired Pointer and Labradoodle mix with a calm, gentle nature. He’s a quiet companion who’s happiest lounging indoors, napping the day away, or sitting on the back porch simply watching the world go by. At bedtime, just tell him it’s time and he’ll happily trot right into his kennel without a fuss.

Scout is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basic commands. He’s a wonderful listener, very treat motivated, and eager to learn. When he needs to go outside, he politely sits by the door to let you know. While he enjoys relaxing, he also has a playful side and loves a good game of fetch. He especially enjoys tracking and has experience working as a hunting dog.

Scout has done well with older children and other dogs in the past. However, he would thrive best in a calm home without young children or other pets. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Scout does have a seizure disorder that is well managed with daily medication, and he has not experienced any seizures since starting treatment. He also needs to be fed separately. After a past situation involving a visiting dog, he developed some food guarding behaviors, but he does well with safe, structured feeding practices in place.

Scout is looking for a peaceful home where he can be a loyal, steady companion. If you’re interested in learning more about this sweet boy, please reach out.

Go meet their pets

Life Savers Animal Rescue has no physical shelter. Animals are housed in foster homes, so in order to meet a dog, an online application must first be completed and processed and approved. Then a meet and greet will be arranged. This process may be delayed should there be many applicants for one dog, so your patience is appreciated.
