Ambrosia came to us as a tiny grey kitten alongside her mom and sister — except she was only half the size of her sibling. While her sister grew stronger each week, Ambrosia struggled.
She struggled to eat.
She struggled to breathe.
She struggled to grow.
Her incredible foster family poured love and devotion into her, trying everything they could. She went through multiple rounds of antibiotics, countless check-ins, and so many careful watchful nights. And still, she just wasn’t thriving.
Until we finally got our answer.
Ambrosia was battling lungworm — a parasite that damages the lungs and makes breathing incredibly hard for tiny bodies. For a kitten already so small, it was a heavy thing to carry.
But here’s where the story shifts.
With the correct treatment plan in place… Ambrosia THRIVED.
This little grey girl, with her stunning eyes and impossibly petite frame, decided she was done being fragile. She now tears through her foster home like she pays the mortgage. It has even been rumored that she has stolen toast directly off her foster mom’s plate. No confirmation. But no denial either.
She is making up for lost time.
Ambrosia is still very small for her age — about the size of a kitten half as old — and she may have some lasting lung sensitivity. She’ll need regular checkups to monitor her breathing. But right now? She is stable. She is happy. She is playful. And she is expected to live a long, joyful life.
What she needs is a family who understands that she missed out on some carefree kitten days — and is ready to help her reclaim them.
More play.
More fun.
More “yes you can chase that toy again.”
More toast security measures.
Ambrosia’s start in life was fragile, but her spirit is anything but. She is small, she is mighty, and she is so ready for a forever home that will celebrate just how far she’s come.
