My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS ANIMAL HAS AN ADOPTION HOLD*

This animal will be held for the state-mandated stray hold before she is eligible for adoption. This animal was found on the 3100 block of Co Rd 74 in the city of St. Cloud. Impound fees must be paid to the city of St. Cloud and a receipt must be shown at the shelter before she can be reclaimed. Additional fees at the shelter may apply. Owners reclaiming their cat must bring a carrier or purchase one from our Re-Tail Shoppe. Adoption holds will be accepted in the event this pet is not claimed by an owner by calling 320-252-0896.

Additional adoption info

Animals are adopted quickly from Tri-County Humane Society, so we advise you to place an adoption hold if you are interested in a specific animal.

Adoption holds are $25 plus tax. To place an adoption hold on a pet, call us at (320) 252-0896 and have your Visa, Discover, American Express, or Mastercard ready; holds also can be placed in person at the shelter. NOTE: Tri-County Humane Society CANNOT reserve an animal without an adoption hold. (Holds cannot be placed through email or social media messaging.)

HOW ADOPTION HOLDS WORK: The $25 plus tax “hold” reserves the TCHS animal of your choice for one day. We do take multiple holds, but it’s always first come, first served. People do change their minds about adoption, and that’s OK - if you’ve fallen in love, you may want to place an additional hold!

THE DETAILS: All holds are nonrefundable and nontransferable. It is a fee for a service (to hold the animal for you); the adoption fee plus tax will still need to be paid in full. If the animal is not adopted by the person with the hold, the pet is available again.

WHAT THE “HOLD” MONEY GOES TO: It helps support our nonprofit animal shelter and the 5,000-plus animals we care for every year!

and exist to support the animals and people of Central Minnesota by practicing and promoting quality animal care, offering compassionate customer service, and providing humane education.

Our Vision Statement: With the help of our community and exceptional team, we envision a time when every animal receives the care they need, and all people receive the support they seek.

Central Minnesota and beyond.

Some of those services include care for homeless animals, pet adoption, pet lost and found, and humane education. We also provide knowledgeable answers to questions regarding pet care, behavior, and many other animal-related issues.
