Casey is in the Adoption Ambassador foster program. Foster families take animals into their homes and help them get adopted. This is what her fosters have said about her.
Casey appears to be a beautiful Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, about 35 pounds of pure devotion wrapped in speckles.
She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t just sit beside you — she melts into you. Glued to her humans. Watching your face. Following your footsteps. Quietly asking, “Are you safe? Am I safe?”
It’s clear Casey hasn’t always known gentle hands. She startles easily, and she studies people before deciding they’re kind. But the moment she realizes you are soft and safe? She loves deeply. Completely. Quickly.
Casey needs a special someone — patient, tender, and overflowing with love. Someone who understands that trust is sacred. Someone who will operate in kindness and let her bloom at her own pace which is pretty darn fast if she is treated with love and compassion.
In return, you’ll get 35 pounds of loyalty, affection, and the kind of bond you only build with a dog who chooses you. What a love she is!
Once she is comfortable with you (which only takes 2-3 days), she is:
A+ on a leash
Appears completely house broken
Sleeps quietly in her crate all night
Dog friendly but doesn’t appear playful just yet. she loves a stuffie to cuddle with
She prefers not to be left alone for any extended length of time and loves the warmth of being close to her forever people.
She doesn’t need perfect. She just needs gentle.
