My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Strawberry is an adorable and extremely handleable seven-month-old, male Syrian hamster looking for a loving guardian.

Strawberry is easy to hold and handle. The main diet of hamsters is pellets, supplemented with teeny tiny amounts of fresh foods, unsalted nuts: a peanut, cashew, or walnut. They also enjoy the occasional mealworm.

To meet and possibly adopt Strawberry, please fill out the application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to make an appointment to meet him.

Strawberry’s adoption fee of $25 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue and includes a carrying case.

If you need a complete set-up for your new hamster including a 20-gallon glass habitat, food, water bottle and exercise wheel and saucer, that is available for an additional $40, or if you’d prefer a 40-gallon glass habitat and supplies, that is available for an additional $60.

Strawberry is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
