Courtesy Post for one of our trainers – Meet Rip!
Rip is a ~1 year old, neutered, 40lb, champagne-colored heartthrob with light tan points and the most stunning gold eyes. Truly no idea what breed(s) he is — he doesn’t fit neatly into any purebred box, and honestly… that just makes him cooler.
The Basics:
• UTD on rabies (other records available)
• Potty trained
• Crate trained
• Very food motivated (training dream!)
• Friendly with people & strangers
• Not very vocal — may whine in crate if he needs to potty or is having a little FOMO
Personality:
Rip is high energy but has learned to settle nicely. He’s great with other dogs — can be a little annoying at times, but he’s submissive and means well. He would LOVE another dog friend (or several).
He’s very interested in cats but can be called off — dog-savvy cats would be best.
Good with kids (has been around ages 9–11).
He will counter surf if you aren’t watching — because… snacks. Remember: VERY food motivated.
Rip’s Story:
Rip originally went to a home where long work hours left him alone too much. With no midday break, he found his own “projects” and also spent time pestering a Great Pyrenees with health issues — not an ideal situation for either dog.
He came to me lacking strong human bonding and respect for correction, but in just one month at the Performance Pack (aka the dog training house), we’ve made huge progress. House training is solid, and we’re now beginning obedience work.
As a professional dog trainer, I’m happy to incorporate training specific to your household’s needs. I also offer free group class training for all my fosters to help set everyone up for success.
Rip is a fun, affectionate, slightly mischievous young dog who just needed structure and guidance. He’s ready for a home that will continue his training and give him the active, engaging life he deserves.
